How to Choose the Right Yin Yoga Teacher Training
Choosing the right yin yoga teacher training is an important step for anyone who wants to deepen their yoga practice and understanding. Our training is designed for those who want a solid foundation in all aspects of yin yoga, guided by some of the most experienced and knowledgeable teachers in the field.
We place great emphasis on how you feel during the training and always strive to create a personal, warm and genuinely inclusive atmosphere. This allows the knowledge to take root not only in the mind, but also in the heart.
Five Reasons to Choose Our Trainings
Experienced teachers with long-standing expertise
Magdalena Mecweld and the team at Wisdom Works have the longest and most extensive experience in yin yoga in Scandinavia. In addition to being the first to offer yin yoga teacher trainings in Sweden in Swedish (2013), Magdalena has written the bestselling books Serenity Yoga and Rest Yourself Strong with Yin Yoga, as well as the App Yin yoga with Magdalena Mecweld.
Yinyogacenter has educated approximately 2,500 Yin yoga teachers. Our training not only covers yin yoga postures in depth, including their variations, but also explores the theory behind yin yoga. You will learn about the history of yin yoga, meditation, Traditional Chinese Medicine, the meridian system and the Five Elements, with well-known experts contributing as guest teachers (read more about our guest teachers here).
You can take a single module or complete all five modules (150 hours). Whichever path you choose, you gain knowledge for life. A certificate from Yinyogacenter is a mark of quality. All our modules are accredited by Yoga Alliance as YACEP® continuing education.
High-quality Yin-yoga education at a humane price
Despite our relatively low pricing, our trainings maintain the highest quality. We have deliberately chosen to stay in a lower price range to make education accessible to as many people as possible. Yoga should be for everyone.
Mindfulness is at the core of our trainings
Magdalena and Mats, the main teachers, integrate a strong foundation of Buddhist mindfulness meditation into the training. A significant amount of time is devoted to incorporating mindfulness into yin yoga, providing you with tools you can use both on and off the mat.
Each day begins with foundational lectures supported by PowerPoint presentations and concludes with yin yoga sessions taught in different teaching styles. Module 2, Yin Yoga & Mindfulness, also includes an extended lecture and practical exercises with licensed psychologist Daniel Ek, author of Tid att leva and Länge leve vänner (Natur & Kultur).
Teachers with anatomical expertise
We have developed a highly appreciated anatomy module together with licensed naprapath Rebecca Carlowitz as well as a specialised fascia- and yin yoga-focused anatomy presentation by fascia expert and yoga teacher Erik Janson Bergendahl.
This part of the training provides a deep understanding of how the body functions in relation to yin yoga.
Personal support throughout the training
In addition to Magdalena and Mats, several assistants are always present. They support participants with everything from finding appropriate postures to serving tea, creating a warm and supportive learning environment.
